LOVE

7/29/2016

Hello! Today I felt like writing again, so without further ado, let's talk about love.

Love, what a difficult word to describe right? Or maybe not.
There’s maternal and paternal love, you know the kind of love you feel for your parents. Some people lack of that love though. The love for your siblings and your grandparents and more family members.
Then there’s romantic love, that one is the really hard one. The one that is really bitchy.

Paulo Coelho said:

“Love is just a word until someone comes along and gives it meaning.”

When you are in love the brain becomes addicted just like it does when someone takes drugs.

Also, love really is blind. It actually has a scientific explanation: (in simple words) when someone is in love the brain activates the good mood chemicals and deactivates the areas devoted to judgment. So basically our loved one is idealized by our brain.

If you are about to fall in love, prepare to suffer. And no, I’m not being pessimistic, I’m being realistic.
But also prepare to live some moments of true happiness and joy, and enjoy it while it lasts. Maybe some days, weeks, months, years; maybe a lifetime…

René Magritte - The Lovers (1928)
A work of art represting that love is blind.

Edvard Munch - The Kiss (1897)
This painting captures an intimate moment between two nudes, the woman pulling the man towards her in a lover's embrace, mouths locked in a passionate kiss, and is an example of Munch's theme of the femme fatale* as the dominant creature.
